The radio will fit in a generic mount as well, mine is sitting in an
MT-52/UR mount.
An MT-171 would probably work as well.

The mount has no electrical function.

Mine has a rework sticker that says NORIS, which I assume is North Island
San Diego?

Even though the radio is spec'd down to 2.0 Mc, it can, with the proper
crystal,
go to 160, I had mine tuned up at 1980 or so. Didn't try to see how low
it would go.

Also be aware that even though the radio says 2-9, 6 of channels are
2-4.27, and
the rest are 4.27 and up.

You do not need the control box to make the radio functional, channel
select, mic and tel
jacks are on the radio, but the front panel "volume" is screwdriver
adjust. The dynamotor
is noticeable in a quiet shack, but not too bad.

Today, finding and buying crystals for it might be a bit pricey, it
might be a candidate
for using the Epson programmable oscillator chips Dave S mentioned a
while back.
