And that's the only M i have ever seen on any BC-348, M1.  The Stark 
rebuilt BC-348 i have, which has an added tag for tracking
updates, oops i mean  modifications, has only "1" entered in the 5 
spaces for stamping the mod number, and i assume this is for
the same mod.
BTW, was looking at schematic for the 1937 W.E. type 20B aircraft 
receiver the other day, and noticed it has a static drain resistor
from ant to ground BUT only on the LF-MF bands. I have no idea.

I have been told or read somewhere that it was the addition of a 1 
Megohm 1/2 Watt resistor across the antenna to ground posts to bleed 
static charge off of the antenna.  The mod was done to all models I 
think.
