I just had the chance to pick up a very clean BC-929-A Indicator. I was not reluctant as the seller's BIN price was a lot lower than where the bidding on the last one got to before I bailed out.
This is my second BC-929-A & is a striking contrast to my first. I'm not quite clear on how to post pix on this board but I will post a set to Vintage Military Radar @Yahoogroups.
My first example has the BC-929-A Indicator nameplate & the same vertical scan CRT with the familiar range miles reticle. It is also the same size as the clean unit. But from there everything is different. The front panel is plain sheet metal with pencil lines left by the tech who built it. The knobs are old style Bakelite types & the number & layout of controls & SO-239 connectors is all different.
Anyone have any thoughts on whether this might have been a lab prototype?
Jack
