Dave, many years ago i took a 2837 crystal, which was a standard 2-MHz boat
band crystal, and tried to use it as a cathode resistor bypass in the 6-9
Command Set receiver,
whose IF, IIR, is 2830. It did not work at all. In retrospect, if it were to
work, i think it would need more impedance, like a choke, in series with the
cathode resistor, so a bypass
path to the crystal was less available.
