I see it the opposite.

They are modern day capitalists. They entice people who want to make a couple of extra bucks and then raise the rates once you depend on them.

UBER is another example.

We've (my wife and I) sold on eBay since 1999, full time since 2002 
(although she gave up and retired again last year).  We used to make a fairly 
decent annual income from it.  That all began to change in 2008.  Since then, I 
cannot think of a single policy change on the site that affected sellers that 
didn't affect them negatively.  Or to put it another way, eBay switched 
from being slightly pro-seller to being quite anti-seller.  That's one of the 
hallmarks of socialism and its close relative, communism.  Which is somewhat 
related to the actual subject of this thread.
