Well, I certainly loved the BC-779 I used back in the day. I never turned it off, and drift 
wasn't an issue for me. I used mine mainly for RTTY at the time. If I listened carefully, I 
could hear the receiver drift back and forth a few cycles. I kind of liked that.

I have three BC-779s now. One is in very bad condition, but original, another is in fairly 
good condition and pretty much original with original power supply, and one has been 
"modified" using that series of mods by Lee. Built-in power supply, audio stage ripped to 
shreds, etc. I think his article was entitled "The Ultimate Super-Pro" or something like that.

I have not yet had an opportunity to fire any of them up.
