Hello Hue, in the mid 60's we had WGBY on 1340 Kc, the AFRTS station at Gitmo. Unless you understood spanish, there was little else to hear during the day. Didn't pay a whole lot of attention to it back then, so no photos.

Here's an actual photo of the 'foxhole radio', now a story well-established and elaborated part of folklore.
This is from 'AFRTS Archive'
http://afrtsarchive.blogspot.com/p/afrts-by-year.html
which has a lot of interesting information about the 'software' aspect of ARFRS stations - the programming and announcers.
I am interested in listings of actual station calls and frequencies and photos of the stations.
If you have found such and are interested in the same thing, you might forward any links to me.
I do plan to work up my own list from the aviation charts i have as well as photos from Nat'l Geographic and some other
documents i have.
As for one program i remember hearing in the late 1950s, a serialized reading of some KW memoir, "Road to Panmunjom",
that seems to have disappeared entirely without any traces.
