Dave, OM:

I have one too. The original plates were Celluloid, printed, and
over-coated with varnish. Mine was stored in a very hot place and all
the plates shrank and pulled away from the mounting screws, and the
round ones went conical. Also the varnish turned black, but was loose
and came off easily. I copied and laminated them and they came out
passably good. If you wish I will copy and laminate - you can cut them
apart.

My dial plate was deep yellow, and also copied nicely. The dial cover
was black, and cracked in five places, so I made a new one from thin
Plexiglass.

It also has a field affixed yellow metal tag marked "USA LIB-44-234."
LIB is for Liberty Ship, 44 matches the name plate date, 1944, but the
234 does not compute. It would be nice to know where it came from.
