I saw on some website some post-war German refurbished BC-348 receivers. They were not repaneled but were repainted; the set, as i recall, also included the BC-375
transmitter. I don’t recall the website, but i’ll do some fishing. According to a U.S. Army – U.S.A.A.F. wartime production list, around 130,000 of the SCR-287 sets were
produced, so there were lots of BC-348 available. Maybe i’ll post the link to this interesting list here.

>the German reference is interesting..I have a re-furbished and modified BC-348(no letter) used by the German coastguard..it has been modified for 'SSB'..and has a new thick heavy front panel with the escutcheon removed..I must look underneath and see what type of re-wiring or new caps have been fitted and then take some pix and publish..the panel is painted grey with white heavy lettering and it has a commercially fitted mains 230v psu installed..I have no documentation and do not know what the 'mods' are..worth a closer look now in view of this article..it is like the 'R' model layout..it works very well indeed..more later..73 de Pat/EI7CN
