I agree. There is really no excuse for poor workmanship. When I encounter 
something like that, all I can do is hope that the perp was the next year's 
Darwin Award winner.

As Ronnie wrote, the people who complained are probably the culprits. In 
more than half a century, I've only seen two or three modified military rigs 
that worked better after the mods. Most don't work at all.
