[Milsurplus] Disinfecting electronic artifacts

Thanks to so many for their suggestions of placing the coil in a freezer 
or heating it up to 150C.  The fact it sat in an unheated hut for 50 
years exposed to Canadian winters should have some effect on its freedom 
from bugs. A thorough cleaning by brushing and perhaps soap and water on 
the ceramic formers should work. Incidentally, I have a sample of a 
piece of 3/4" dia. Litz wire , specially made to replace a military high 
power transmitter output coil and it is said to have 2200 separate wires 
making up the conductor. Cost was about $100/ft. min. order 1000ft.
