No, actually Germany permitted a level of ham radio to continue. I'm sure
the license holders were well-vetted, and no out-of-country contacts.
I think it was maybe was thought worthwhile for training purposes?
Preparedness?
I read about this in 'Radio Bygones' magazine, U.K., altho it might have
been discussed elsewhere too.
Apparently the Germans had some propagation beacons in the ham bands also.
I don't recall that the article talked about the endgame, but I'd think the
ham radio went downhill in '44.

Whats the story behind this? I thought Germany banned all ham radio
quite a bit before the start of the war.
