Wiring the detector circuit like a conventional circuit dose wonders, go figure. The radio was requiring over two hundred microvolts for solid AM reception and now works well down in the twenty microvolt range. Still have a couple issues with the alignment on the two top HF bands but the two LF and BC band work good. Next step will be trying to figure the points for alignment of the RF stages because like everything else on this radio that's all been messed with. Go figure that the one modification that makes a real and useful difference to the detector circuit was never done, but everything else was all changed. Will try to get some pictures tonight and put them up.
