More - Ships Nostalgia says some passenger ships had lifeboats with
radio built-in. RO's had little faith in conventional lifeboat radios,
but they worked pretty good when tested in good weather.

Somewhere - I have seen pictures of a lifeboat with radio built-in. It
seems logical, which is why they don't do it anymore.
