[Milsurplus] 1489 Radio ?

What is a "1489 Radio" ?  (  i may have the numbers scrambled. ) I was 
triaging paper again tonite in a storage area and spotted a
"1489 Radio Spare Parts" metal box. I didn't remember what it was about - 
when I opened up both of these cases, I saw I'd stashed
a German KlFu.d. in each. Hmmm, 2 more I have to get the special 'tape band' 
antennas for. But I'm still puzzled as to which radio
the spares cases were for. I think some kind of ship radio?
