Don't dismiss the set between the SCR-AD-183 and SCR-AE-183...the SCR-AB-183.
There's something fascinating about the very odd taxonomy of the early
SCR-A*-183 sets. Here are the first six sets, in chronological order by order number date:
---SET---- ORDER DATE RECEIVER TRANSMITTER MANUFACTURER
SCR-AA-183 06/25/1932 BC-AA-179 BC-AA-180 A.R.C.
SCR-AC-183 03/15/1934 BC-AB-199 BC-AB-200 A.R.C.
SCR-AD-183 03/15/1934 BC-AD-199 BC-AD-200 Graybar for WECo.
SCR-AB-183 04/19/1934 BC-AD-219 BC-AD-200 Graybar for WECo.
SCR-AE-183 06/05/1935 BC-AE-229 BC-AE-230 A.R.C.
SCR-AF-183 07/27/1935 BC-AF-229 BC-AF-230 Graybar for WECo.
This is a confusing array. But it's even worse if the AB set is put between AA and AC sets. :-)
