I believe that the aircraft you are talking about may be the North American
O-47 at the NASM. I think I posted a link to a web page I made on the
aircraft a while ago.

It does have the BC-307 and BC-224 as its sole communications source. It was
set up for the back seat guy to operate without anything I could find for
the pilot except for the intercom and the DF.

I recall seeing a photo of some kind of an inline two seater with a BC-224-A
mounted snugly just in front and below the rear seater - gunner - radio
operator. I'm sure the BC-307 was the matching transmitter.
