[Milsurplus] - BC-221 1000KC standard crystal ?

Anyone -
  Signal Corps Radio Crystals, Octal type 1000 KC No. CBZA;
  How does it differ from my BC-221 AK Signal Corps, Octal type 1000 KC 
DC-9 crystal?

  Is there publication that documents the differences and benefits of 
these different types of crystal standards used in the BC-221 and LM 
series frequency meters for example?

  I know the LM and BC-221  1000KC crystals have different pinouts on 
the Octal sockets.
  My BC-221 AK 1000Kc has been acting up, intermittent from time to time.
