[Milsurplus] Need help with FSN's.

 I have a box of old electronic components sealed in small (~1.5X2.5 inches) metal cans.  The dates on them are mostly 1956.  They have the FSN's and part nos., but no component description.  I have tried to find a cross reference source for FSN's to NSN's with no luck.  I'd just like to know what these things are without unsealing the cans.  Also, several bags of large unused new resistors from 1968 with no resistance markings or color codes, but they ohm out at 30, 40 and 50 ohms.  I got this box of stuff many years ago and just stumbled across it again, and can't remember where I picked it up.  Thanks for any time and help.
