[Milsurplus] RADAR Ant

OK Ray, but in any case, what does "dodo" mean? This particular antenna is on the sonobuoy in addition to a VHF flip-up antenna. The sonobuoy receives on X or S Band and transmits both hydrophone sound and RADAR replies on VHF.
It pains me to know that there are thousands of these puppies littering the ocean floor with their beautiful UTC Ouncer transformers (coveted by the audiophools), Cinch phenolic and ceramic 7-pin miniature tube sockets with chrome-plated Eby shields, 3A5 and 1L4 miniature tubes, ceramic VHF coil forms with silver-plated coils, piezoelectric transducers and more. The SSQ-2Bs were all hand wired (no cheapo PC boards) with first class construction able to withstand the vibrations of flight and impact with the water. But then their salt plugs dissolve and they are gone forever.

Never mind Michael. I'm thinking of another sonobuoy
