[Milsurplus] Copper Top Battries

I have had spontaneous discharge and leakage way before the expiration
date with Duracell and Royovac batteries far more frequently than other
brands. They seem to do this most often if a small portion of their
capacity has been used and they are far from spent, almost like using
them for a few minutes starts the clock running and they WILL self
dicharge quickly after that and leak. In my experience private label
alkalines made in China and sold at grocery store chains, and most from
Japan, seem far less likely to leak. Also, the major brand Japanese
"industrial" 9 volt batteries seem to accept recharging fairly well.

>> Just wondering if anyone else is having a problem with these batteries? I put new ones in my battery pack for the PRC-127 in Feb, and now have a mess in the battery holder. They leaked and even ate some of the plastic case. Also ate the contacts, so have to figure a repair for those. Date on the package says best before 2023, so they are new.
