Unfortunately, the provenance trail has not been preserved. That would have been at least as interesting as the piece.
At time of the capitulation, there were numerous “best examples” about of any item you might want. Postwar collection,
scuttling, melting, exploding, “examining”, bulldozing was pretty effective, moreso for some categories especially.
