[Milsurplus] BC-348 AC Supply

Rather poor quality design compared to the CQ Ham conversion, no use of a choke in the filter circuit, poor looking connection to the original DC power input connection and no fuse in the AC primary. CQ recommended using a second switch for the primary AC although I did the same thing as the Hallicrafters installation using the original mode control. Would be interesting to see what there assembly looks like and also know what they were running as a B+ and the one good thing about their mod is it provides 28 volts for the filament string and you do not have to convert the filament string for 6.3 volt operation like in the CQ modification.
I have the schematics and example of the CQ modifications on a web page at:

A picture of the Hallicrafters power supply deck would be very educational in determining how many if any of the BC-348 receivers that have been on sale on EBay that claim to have original AC supplies installed are in fact original? Prior to you presenting this information I have been under the assumption that there was no approved modification for AC operation and have to wonder what the point of this modification was being that there were other capable receivers that were better suited for ground base operations.

Here's the Hallicrafters "canon" change to the BC-348, adding their AC supply:
