Those clips used to be pretty common and were used in many aircraft
including private and commercial stuff. You should not have any problem
finding one, and if not here, try your local airport radio shop.

I have only a modest collection of WW2 transmitters (ARC-2, BC-375, ATD) .
But I do, of course, have T-17s and RS-38 mics. One thing that always
bothered me about the RS-38 was the lack of a loop to hang it onto
something. It seemed like a bad design. A search on Google brings up
aafradio site and explains that there was a special clip to hold the RS-38
(and a special hanger for the T-17). According to aafradio the T-17 hanger
is pretty uncommon. How about the clip for the RS-38? Anyone have one? I
hate the mic just dangling around!

Subject: [Milsurplus] TCS: T-17 and RS-38 Microphone Mystery
Been refurbishing at TCS-13 (photo on my QRZ.com page).
I dug-out all my T-17s and RS-38s, looking to "seperate the sheep from the
goats." Most of these don't work with either SCR-274N or SCR-287.
To my great surprise, ALL of them work on the TCS transmitter, the worst of
the lot still doing at least 70%
modulation. The 274N and 287 use current-limited
filament voltage to power the carbon mike.
The TCS uses the cathode bias of the modulators.
Diagram attached.
So- why do they work with the TCS, but not with other rigs?
