That's a new one, and the most brash i have heard of.
I had one auction where a person offered me cash before auction close. 
My answer was, with the apparent demand for the
item, "Why would i want to do that?"
On the other hand, i HAVE seen several auctions which suddenly stopped 
and the item disappeared. I assume it was the
foolish lure of green money.
