[Milsurplus] All Good Things.....

Controversial subject! Lots of feelings and opinions. I don't intend getting on Facebook myself, or LinkedIn. Nothing agents them just too much a Luddite. All of the people I work with at the university have Facebook accounts and appear to spend a lot of time on them, my daughters take great delight in telling me that both of my older brothers have Facebook pages and ask me why I don't? MRCA has the ability to send attachments and have to say I have found that useful on more than one occasion but have never considered not having that ability on Millsurplus a difficulty. I can always work in a link to my web page or photo bucket or whatever. I will admit that I have been spending ever increasing amounts of time of Web Forums where subjects can be broken into categories, pictures posted and information easily found by category unlike the lack of structure that's found on Millsurplus but Millsurplus has a certain value, if not charm in forcing the originator of a post to write and attempt to be exact in there statements. A goal I aim for but frequently miss. Also remember that there is history with this reflector, a history that goes back before the email reflector itself, anyone remember Dennis Stark and the days when floppy disks were sent to the subscribers thru the mail?
There is nothing stopping you from proceeding with building a new Forum or any number of Facebook options but as of today I don't think I will be following you there, nothing personal, that's just me. Besides, that may be a benefit not having someone like me around to always be beating the drum on how the BC-348Q is superior to the primitive higher cost and overbuilt versions or how the ARC-5 was a technological blind alley that went nowhere after the war! A similar thing just happened with the migration of the midatlanticretro email reflector and I did not make the migration for that, maybe that's the best way to get rid of the old timers, is by relegating them to the world of text only?

Email reflectors have been a huge blessing for us, connecting so many great people. But they are 1990s tech and quite limited.
Is it time we considered moving to something like a Facebook group, where one can upload photos and videos? There are already some that are in their infancy...

God bless those who have driven The Porch and Mailman; I certainly don't want to leave.
But should we consider moving forward?
It would be nice to illustrate my posts without having to use web hosting links.
