I've been on several for a few years.  Relatively dead, difficult to 
operate, compared to the reflectors, and various, numerous, continuous 
failures of FB make them, for the most part, about 999,999/1,000,000 
non-functional with no clue as to why or how to make FB actually work.  When 
the list goes to FB, I'm outta there...  The reflectors have been around 
since the 80's/90's because they work, and that's what's needed.

In response to security regarding FB, there is no requirement to put in 
valid info other than a free/fake e-mail adress from a provider such as 
yahoo of gmail that you can access when you create your fake account and you 
can lock down any and all aspects of it, there is no security risk, there 
are no "intrusions" that you have not specifically created.  What you have 
left after some common sense vagueness in your fake account is a bad, 
usually non-functional FB page that's a lot harder to access or respond to 
than reflectors, but you are "secure".
