Coupling a decent ballistic computing bombsight to a decent bomber autopilot was was a perfect example of synergy.


The combo was far more than just the sum of its two parts. 



What a shame GEE/LORAN A wasn't more accurate back then. 
Can you imagine a bomber autopilot coupled to an accurate radio nav system during WW 2? 
Not so easy as GEE TD lines were hyperbolic, but not impossible. I think it could have been done using analogue computers with trig functions.
