I was up in Seattle area recently and had a few hours to dig in storage space I still unfortunately have up there.
I went to recover 2 French Army BC-312s and came back with those and 5 others in various states from easily
restorable to not-so-restorable. I'm hoping the next hamfest here will bring out people willing to adopt one of
these poor things. Carrying 7 of these to and from my vehicle was not that much fun.
But, to the point: I also saw a couple of the wood boxes for the AN/GGQ-1 Morse code practice oscillator.
I saved them because I save military stuff, altho the internal dividers in the box make it pretty useless for storing
anything other than the GGQ-1 and a few keys. The condition seemed to be good. NO internals, I mean keys or
tone generator, just the box. I think I want a paltry $20 each. However this will have to wait until springtime at
soonest. I don't have plans to drive up north again real soon and the bitter cold made digging in the storage, altho
it continually turned up surprises, a lot less than relaxed fun.
The box is illustrated and for sale at this site, which also has a whole lot of info, more than you'd ever expect,
about the J-38 key:

My price is a lot better than his, and I think the boxes I have are in better condition.
Data point: these are from the estate of William Zinn, who ran a surplus store in West Seattle in the 1950s, after
a varied career with Fox Theaters and then with Alaska Steamship Co. He’s the one I thank for the Sargent 10
manuals, the early 1930s ship transmitter manuals, ship radio licenses, and many unused radiotelegraph message
form pads. When I was going to the clean-up sale in the early 1980s, the man running the sales, as far as I know,
removed the keys and tone generator and sold them separately. I don’t recall seeing the tone generator part of
this set at the sales.
So, I suppose this email means, I’d like to place these 2 boxes, and I’m taking pre-orders.

I am looking the case that houses the Signal Corps Telegraph Practice Kit
AN/GGQ-1. I also could use some of the TL123 clips.
I have a like new Oscillatone and several J-38 keys and it would be nice to
put them all together in their box.
