[Milsurplus] SPF with U.S. Army tags

Some of the Forest Service SPF radios bore U.S. Army tags also. ( For use by
the firefighters of the all-black troops
555th Parachute Infantry Btn. ) I am wondering if anyone has a guesstimate
on the ratio of Army labeled SPFs to
the non-Army labeled SPFs. I think the non-Army ones should be less common.
The radios were never assigned
AN/ or SCR type numbers. ( Kind of like the Jefferson Travis JT-350 in that
respect. )

( SPF= "Semi-Portable Fone" in the Forest Service's non-rigorous naming
convention. I also think I read of it referred
to as "Short Peckered Friend" but I don't recall where I saw this. If
someone does, I'd like to know the source.
