Craigslist is a resource, but one that has to be used with extreme caution.

I have tried Craigslist about half a dozen times, most of which resulted in
no reply at all from the seller.

Only two were successful, one of them though I felt uncomfortable, and 
had my guard
up the whole time. I wound up with a TS-something sweep gen for real 
cheap, but
the $200 BC-221 was a definite no sale.

But I did get a good deal at an estate sale close buy, a dead Tek 335 
scope whose
only fault turned out to be a bulging electrolytic, and a clean, 
functional PP-4763
for a very reasonable sum.

So caveat emptor, with an *extreme* emphasis on the caveat.
