Do not use WD-40  on switches..  Bad news.  It leaves a residue on metal.
The best treatment for switch contacts is DeOxit.  Fine product.

WD-40 was mentioned for use on black wrinkle paint . Its works great on the
older bat handle toggle switches and was wondering about its use on other
"open" contact switches. Not spraying the whole switch just applying a very
small amount with an applicator or Q tip etc.
