True that.  http://aafradio.org/flightdeck/ARC-2b.jpg is the connector 
in question.  I have no idea what the Collins engineers were thinking 
with that concoction, rather than using a commercial rectangular Cannon 
or similar connector like the AN/ARC-1 or AN/ARC-4 did.
