News and traffic for the morning commute is pretty popular in places like NY.  
Out in the middle of the country it's more like religious talk radio.  For 
talking 10 kHz is plenty.  They're even running stereo (ISB) music stations, and 
in a car with usually crappy radio it doesn't sound a whole lot worse than FM 
stereo.
