Hi,

I am sure (or at least I hope) this is NOT universal. The day I took my
exams the place was crowded the aviation types who had been attending
radio boot camp at who knows how much expense. The FCC gave each person
their results right on the spot in the presence of everybody else. The
FCC also announced it was the first day of a brand new exam. I was close
to the last one done..plodded my way through the whole thing. I was the
only one in that exam session that did pass. I made it through based
mostly on what I had already learned as a practicing Amateur Extra Class
licensee - in spite of the Bash books <evil grin>. That was an
eye-opener for me.

Somebody, somewhere has to be doing something right since there are a
lot of airplanes in the sky and they seem to be talking to each other. I
used my license on "other" radios - landmobile and maritime. So maybe
that was a factor <'nuther evil grin>. Today I'm 'just a ham' but who
knows what might happen tomorrow. The Great Lakes are just over a couple
of hills from here.

73,
