"What do you do with the Alpha card output?  Feed into the PC audio card?"

In the original application it would be fed into a receiving/decoding device 
and the location of the card, and the item it is installed in, could be 
determined.

I figured I'd just hook up a speaker, maybe plug it into the PC, look at it 
with Argo or Spectrum Lab or something.

The audio output at the pin is a few KHz wide so all stations, or whichever 
one could be heard at the moment, would be heard by the ear.

Now that I think about it...

I don't know what kind of filtering there is on the Alpha RX card, most 
likely little or none, might make a good VLF RX in conjunction with a 
computer, think of a poor mans SDR with two to three decade old technology!
