Yes, and over the years of "saving them" for what?, I got very few kicks for 
the
buck. I tuned across NLK ( Oso, WA, up near the area there was that massive
mudslide a few months back ) and watched the pointer on the meter fly, and
on the Sierra 128, listening for a few minutes to some ham SSB while 
watching
the big level meter. This thread has actually still been worthwhile to me 
because
I had sort of forgotten I need to get rid of these things.

receivers which work VERY well, having received SAQ on 17.2 Kc. with
satisfaction on all three.  They are indeed simple to resurrect, etc.
