Do you want the entire SMO assembly or just the PTO from it? The PTO is just about the same as the one for the 38A but the entire SMO assembly for the ARC-38 is a very scares thing. In the last ten years I have seen pictures of them and only one and that's the one I have in my 38, the 38A SMO assembly is a way different animal.
I have gutted the SMO from an ARC-38A and built a manual tune system that works on the 38, 38A and 618S that gives you the ability to have a transceiver that tunes just by the turn of a knob and a four position switch allows you to select the band. Great fun to watch the tuning racks follow your progress. About half way down the page at:

Subject: [Milsurplus] ARC-38 parts needed
I need some ARC-38 parts. Just to
be clear, I am referring to the AM
radio, not the SSB ARC-38A.
Specifically, I need an SMO module out of the RT-311/ARC-38.
Condition not too important, as I am more interested in parts recovery, mainly the positioner coils, K1201 and K1203. Although if a better unit than the one I have is available, so much the better.
Would also be interested in another whole RT-311, anything from a good condition, to a parts unit.
Thanks
