I have a USCG 5-watt voice radio built by W.E. with the same situation.
BTW, i am not attached particularly to this radio, if anyone here really likes USCG.
It tunes the old 2 MHz band (of course) with tunable receive. One slightly different
feature is that the trans section is a single 6L6 crystal osc.

The WSNo.19 group in the U.K. had some posts a couple years back by a Spanish
ham with a remanufactured edition of this USCG TRC-109 radio. This repackaging
was marketed to the commercial fishing fleet.
