Sorry, but why the caution?
The B+ has been turned off or disconnected, so no damage can result from
lack of drive if that's what you mean. That's why I suggested removal of B+.

I could see your point if the grid current was grossly excessive which might
lead to grid damage, but in this case it's likely to be too low.
