My latest project is the AN/GRC-106 with the idea of having this all installed on my M151 in time for the Aberdeen and later Gilbert shows, along with doing some mobile opps in-between. Now have the radio in the shop along with the amplifier and a lot of other bits but am in need of one or two additional things. Frist I need a MT-3140 mount, can order one from Fair Radio for around $50 and whatever shipping will be but thought I would ask here first. Second will be all the stuff involved with the AB-652/GR mast base and sections for the vertical antenna although don't think I will use that antenna system and will stay with using my push up mast and the like. All this stuff looks cheap and easy compared to what will be involved with the M151 electrical system being it only has the piss week 25 amp generator and would want to go to something like the 60 or 100 amp alternator and that stuff is selling for crazy money. When completed there will be a shelf that extends across the back of the jeep that will support the GRC-106, VRC-92 (RT-1439) and maybe some other computer/GPS junk or something for VHF like a URC-110 so am also going to need some idea on a DC distribution box or terminal system for all that stuff. And on the subject of high current DC cable have noticed that the GRC-106 amplifier uses something that looks like a coaxial cable only with a huge center conductor for the DC primary. Anyone know what this cable is called?
