Wayne, understand that I mean no aspersion toward you.
Myself, I would ask him, "You really shaved the gross weight of that 
airplane, didn't you?.
I'll bet you noticed the improved performance right away."

Years ago, I sold a couple AVR, AVT pairs to a fellow in Bellevue, WA, and 
seems  he told me
the radio could or would be emptied out. In retrospect, I should have made 
it clear,
"Ray, you're on your own now. No more deals."

-two 135 kc IF transformers
-two joined IF-like cans that may be RF & LO coils
-Loctal tubes (2) 14H7, 28D7, 14J7?, and one that might be 14R? (ID stamps 
faded)
-small transformer, maybe audio output, ID # smudged, might be A3828
-small gray box, looks like transformer, with stamped ID 901523
-several wax filled caps, might be good for restuffing
