Very nice! You'd be surprised at how far those low power 2-3 MHz AM radios could communicate. My Dads first commercial fishing boat had an Apelco 18 xcvr. 6L6 final with two 6V6s modulating. Carbon mic. 18 watts on a good day. We got 80 mile comms all the time. 2142, 2638 and 2738 were our working freqs. 2182 was calling and distress.

Occasionally talked to Gulf Coast shrimpers from our home port SF CA when skip was good. When we got weak audio reports we'd hang the carbon mic over the stove to dry it out. Then we'd slam it hard against a bulkhead to loosen it up. Made a big difference.

I am a DF junkie. Never seen that WE compass accessory but I'll keep an eye out.

Your WE rig is the prettiest rig if that type I've ever seen. Great find and great restoration.
