[Milsurplus] Knobs used in RBA/RBB/RBC receivers

Mike,

As far as I know the "RCA knob" was a patented design, and they touted
them as be anatomically correct etc., etc,. I doubt that RCA actually
manufactured the knobs themselves. I also doubt that anybody made
unauthorized copies.

That said, the knob I just pulled off my rather original AR-88 receiver,
from the 1940's, bears the logo "MIC" in a circle. I also have a bag of
RCA knobs from a silent key that I am hoarding carefully. A couple of
these say MIC, while the majority say VIZ. VIZ Corporation in
Philadelphia inhereted the RCA test equipment line, VTVM's, etc. as the
parent company was winding down, but I don't know a lot about them.

I'd suggest that if it looks like an RCA knob, it is an RCA knob.

It also seems that at least a few other companies have made copies of these knobs as well. My first question is how is one able to differentiate between a genuine RCA knob and a copy and my second question is where would be a good place to find a few RCA knobs?
