John,

I have a lot of experience with them.  They aren't very battery hungry in
still mode, but use more in video mode.  I ran one for months off a
gel-cell in video mode.  Months on the C-cells in still mode.  Every one
that I have used has had an external power input.  Some are 6-volt and some
are 12-volt.  I favor the 6-volt batteries they sell for the motorized toy
cars, just because you can buy them any day of the week at a box store.

The camera I had from Wildgame **** fell apart due to humidity.  Moultrie
seems better built.

Milsurplus content:  I put 2 of the toy car batteries inside an RBM battery
case to make a period-appropriate 12V source for a TBX transmitter
dynamotor, though I would have to explain it as a field expedient
improvisation.
