Do any of you highly esteemed gentlefolk have any experience with the
subject line subject? I’ve been looking at some of their cold war surplus
for use in a few projects here, concentrating on the pillar-type submini
pentodes. I find them utterly fascinating along with a few other subminis
with ratings that blur the line between submini and mini.

One of the projects is a walkermobile/park bench portable crystal control CW
rig for 40-10m (harmonically related bands only) good for around 10w out and
possibly convertible to DSB later on. From what I can see, such a wee
beastie should be easy on batteries except for the PA and even there the
average power will be fairly easily manageable.

Anyway, if anyone here has any sage advice – or advice of any other
seasoning – it would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Michael, K3MXO, CBLA #6, BL01hx15np24 ... or there abouts

Sometimes I pretend to be normal but it gets boring so I go back to being
me.
