        World War Two, Korean, and commercial Willys/AMC/AM General, 
including Postal Service Jeeps, were all available for purchase, some 
surplus some new. They can all be seen on
        the highways today. Drive them as you would a Ford Model A and 
they are fun and safe. The earlier M-151    series is the one that will 
turn over easily like a Corvair or older
        Volkswagen Bug.  The later M-151 A2 series is  far better, but 
the beaurocrats required them to be cut up as well.

          There are legal ways around this. Most commonly, they are 
considered a custom built vehicle, and the cut areas must be properly 
reinforced and welded to pass inspections.
          Other companies offer "lost title" services for older vehicles 
found in barns and other long stored places where no one can find or 
provide a title or registration. State regulations
          do vary, but  I have never heard of anyone being unable to 
restore and enjoy an M-151 anywhere if they do it right.
