[Milsurplus] BC-406A needs a new home

I'm in the process of clearing out excess 'stuff' that has accumulated over
the decades. Along with a lonely TDQ transmitter I have a rather unassuming
green box with a Western Electric tag on it stating that it's a BC-406A.
>From what I've been able to gather reading online, it is the receiver
section of the SCR-268 RADAR, which was essentially the US Army's first
radar setup (though the 270 is better known thanks to Pearl Harbor). It was
designed as a system for gun and searchlight laying. Some cool photos of
complete set ups online and neat history to boot, but that still can't
justify it living in my garage anymore. Especially with a 16 month old
daughter milling around outgrowing clothes and shoes faster than I wake up
in the morning.
Overall the receiver is in very good condition. Inside looks nearly new.
Outside is a little scuffed and dirty, and one of the latch ears is broken
off. Three screws to remove and replace it. It's not quite 3 feet long, a
foot deep, and 8 inches tall. And it weighs 100 lbs, which rules out
shipping on my end.
In past years I asked about this on here a couple times but didn't get a
lot of feedback or interest. A couple folks claimed to really want it
baaad, but when I asked them to make an offer on it (because I have *no*
idea what it's worth), they disappeared.
I'd like this receiver to find a good home where it can be preserved into
the future. I also know I'm not going to retire off its sale, and at the
risk of catching a shoe behind the head from my wife for saying this,
selling price is secondary to getting it into the right hands.
I plan to haul it to the Raleigh hamfest next month if you're going to be
there. It can always be picked up here, though you risk hauling home
considerably more if you look away too long. If no takers by the fest it
will be scrapped for those priceless acorn tubes and whatever other tidbits
are useful. Would really hate to do that but I've been its caretaker since
1994, time to move it along one way or another.
Same thing goes for the TDQ. Everyone needs to own a TDQ at least once in
their life. I think it's an unwritten rule of surplus somewhere, maybe
following the Model 28 TTY rule.
