Incandescent lamps are not actually banned, though the new efficiency
standards do effectively rule out the traditional low efficiency types.
However, there are halogen incandescent lamps which meet the new
efficiency requirements, have the same color temperature as the old
lamps, and last much longer. Best of all, they cause no EMI problems.
They are more expensive than the old lamps, but this may be compensated
in the long run by their longer life and lower power consumption...
