[Milsurplus] Way OT: Is soot corrosive?

Generally, alcohol is not a great grease solvent. It's better for stuff
like rosin.

The heptane of rubber cement thinner is a very good grease solvent, as is
Fantastic. Stay away from 409...  it destroys some plastics.
